Roundstone is duly considered one of the most beautiful villages in Ireland. It is located in the heart of Connemara amoungst the 12 pins on the edge of the sea. The quaint village has featured in numerous films and is traditionally a fishing village where occasionally you can spot Galway Hookers docking each evening. One can also have the opportunity to sail in one.
There are a handful of award winning restaurants and bars, and craft shops and art galleries featuring works from local and international artists.
Roundstone is also in close proximity to Gurteen bay distinctly revered as the beach in Ireland that has the most white sand and features a turquose tinted colour of the sea.
Just set behind is Dogs Bay which is the only beach in Ireland made of shells.
Roundstone is the ideal base to explore Connemara and one can partake in a range of outdoor activities including walking, fishing, swimming, and cycling within a context of stunning natural beauty.
